One photo from Howard University’s Homecoming in Washington, DC, would be the beginning of Anok Yai’s professional modeling career. Taken by Steven Hall in street style photography, Anok Yai, born in Cairo, Egypt and a biochemistry student, didn’t see a future in modeling. Now she has walked the runway for Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Estee Lauder, and many other prominent fashion houses. However, Yai is committed to inspiring young girls and women of color to pursue STEM careers and studies in the STEM field. She often speaks about the importance of calling out colorism and creating spaces for more dark-skinned Black women in the media.
Precious Lee’s curve modeling style varies from soft and feminine to grungy and masculine, which can happen all within a matter of hours. Lee has a strong passion for racial equity and multi dimensional personal style. Her strong passions and determination have leveraged her to become one of the leading Black curve models within fashion for notable brands and houses. Starring in campaigns for Versace, Christian Siriano, Tommy Hilfiger, Area, and more, she is now getting into music videos recently starring as the leading lady in a Drake and 21 Savage song. Her personality shines bright on her Instagram page as followers will see her model editorials and everyday life.
